Constant Contact: easy access for spammers, a PITA trying to opt-out

This is a more of a rant than news, however I am sick and sick of Consistent Contact.

It’s not that they relatively encourage customers to add an email address without first acquiring consent–– other e-mail marketing companies are guilty of the same–– it’s that they make me, the victim, jump through hoops to opt-out.

Here’s the Consistent Contact opt-out kind:

Constant Contact Spam

They, laughingly, call this “SafeUnsubscribe.” Safe, for who, the spammer? For me, I have to check the e-mail the spam was sent to, then enter it again in the box. After that, I don’t even get a choice to report the spammer–– something that Mailchimp gets kudos points for making a simple alternative.

How is it that a Constant Contact spammer does not need to go through an “choose in” procedure before adding my e-mail, yet I need to go through a double opt-out procedure to obtain off their spammy list?

Continuous Contact, offer me a true one-click unsubscribe, a simple choice to report spammers, and, here’s a novel idea, put the concern on the spammers sending out the emails, not me!

I do not have a sh * t list, however if I did, Constant Contact would be on it.
